Bureau International des Expositions

The governing body over international Expositions. The Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) was founded in 1928 and sanctions international expositions as well as other exhibitions. Not all events that most people would categorize as a world's fair has been sanctioned by the BIE, most notably the 1964-'65 New York World's Fair.In June 2002, the BIE will be deciding who will host Expo 2010. Currently, there are five bids: Buenos Aires, Shanghai, Wroclaw, Yosu, and Moscow.After deciding on Expo 2010, the BIE will decide who will host 2007 or 2008.
