Kyrgyzstan

An entire country under one tent

The way to Kyrgyzstan's exhibit leads directly to a yurt. This circular felt-clad nomad tent - typical in western and central Asia - serves as the backdrop for the impressive landscape of this mountain republic. The tent is enclosed by several circular, panoramic walls. On his way around the exhibition the visitor learns details about four central themes: history and culture, environmental protection, the significance of natural resources for the national economy and the promotion of international co-operation.

The exhibition programme also includes readings, films and performances by Manas singers and folk musicians. And those wishing to collect a souvenir may visit a bazaar next to the yurt.
